The long weekend is upon us and Monday, South Africans will be celebrating National Heritage Day. All over the country, South Africans will be lighting fires and celebrating our love of beer, braai and boerewors!
At a loss for what to do? We have some great ideas right here to keep you busy over the weekend.
NOMAD BISTRO & BAR
Nomad has made its name known on the event and entertainment circuit in Cape Town. So, for this long weekend, the restaurant will be pulling out all stops.
What is a better way to kick off the weekend than with bottomless ribs and bubbly to celebrate the long weekend. Keeping your toes tapping the whole night will be various hip hop DJs who will see you in to the early hours of Saturday morning.
Saturday will change things up a bit with some live music from some of the most talented artists in South Africa. Make sure you get down to watch the amazing Devin Harmer, together with Alanna Joy who will be sharing the stage. Again, make sure you take advantage of the bottomless rib special as well as use the CLINK app to claim your free drink.
RADISSON BLU HOTEL
This Heritage Day, gather your friends, gather your family and celebrate your heritage with a braai at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Waterfront. Soak up the South African flavours of live music with Shades of Africa who will be entertaining diners with their unique sounds of rhythm and soul. Take this all in with ocean views and a three-course braai buffet that includes dishes such as beef boerewors, peri-peri chicken, barbeque chicken, lemon and herb chicken kebabs, red wine-marinated venison, lamb chops, beef fillets and roosterkoek.
And in case that doesn’t entice you, how about some braised ostrich neck in a red wine reduction, mielies with parsley butter, cinnamon pumpkin fritters in a sweet sugar syrup, snoek parcels with apricot jam, and ‘pap tert’ (cheese, tomato and chutney layered with pap)?
For those who need a sweet treat, Radisson Blu has you covered with a dessert buffet of milk tart, koeksisters, mini-trifles, malva pudding and other delicious treats that will leave you feeling satisfied.
The price of R395 per person includes a buffet meal and a Castle Lite. If you book a table of four, you receive a bucket of eight Castle Lites. Booking is essential. Children under the age of five eat with our compliments, while children aged five to 12 and pensioners receive a 50% discount.
