Nederburg Wines in Paarl is hosting its annual Harvest at Dusk Festival early next year, and you are invited!
On 16 February 2019, crowds can head into the winelands at sunset to pick bundles of grapes before heading back to get knee deep into the juices. A fun, traditional way of winemaking so true to the Western Cape heritage.
This festival of fun on the farm is also educational. Start with a glass of Nederburg’s refreshing Cuvée Brut on arrival, served with a surprise snack. Guests can then learn more of the different grape varieties and are given the chance to taste the fresh grape must before it becomes wine. Calling in expert winemakers to share their knowledge of wine making and the harvest process, Nederburg truly wraps you into the fold.
After the hard work is done, chef Lisa Cilliers of The Red Table restaurant, will be serving up a bountiful harvest feast of family-style table platters, laden with delicious mezze and farm-fresh salads and vegetables to accompany delicious slow-roasted meat. For dessert, guests can expect 'korrelkonfyt’ and peach upside down cake served with vanilla ice cream and enjoyed to the soothing sounds of popular South African musician, Mathew Gold.
Guests are advised to wear hats, sunscreen, comfortable clothing and shoes.
