watch out for in 2019.
We spoke with Tsitsi to find out a bit more about his Cape Town shows:
Why is your show called So Naive?
Because I am so naive. For real growing up we always look for guidance from our parents than ourselves and sometimes we don’t realise we put them in so much pressure that they are forced to make up information and we go with that our whole lives teaching someone else. I love the way I was raised (Most of us are) but there are a lot shortcomings.
Most people know you from Trevor Noah’s Nationwild, How was the experience of being part of that and what did it do for your career?
It’s definitely changed my career for the better, I mean I went on tour in Asia just a few months after the show and it was amazing. Working with someone that is as inspirational as he is only refocuses your energy to striving to realize your own goals.
The experience of being part of the show was humbling and challenging trying to
contain your emotions and remain composed enough to deliver a killer show with everything that's going on is tricky, I mean Trevor is watching the cameras big crowd. I had to tell myself that its normal and just another day in the office and ultimately it was haha.
Describe your style of comedy in 3 words.
Very Very Funny.
What can the audience look forward to in terms of content during your one man show?
A very relatable story about life which people can really reflect of. Look, it's going to be something that most people have never seen, honest and pure and most importantly funny (Show contains no swearing). This show is a picture of the world from young South African’s perspective which everyone can come watch because we were all there at some point.
What do you think of the current state of South African Comedy?
It’s great I mean it’s moved past the ‘showing potential’ phase and now its an emerging industry with a lot of people doing well locally and internationally, it's really humbling to be a part of it it's a blessing
Do you plan on taking the one man show to other cities? (if so please provide details)
Yes I plan to do 400 seats in every single province, going to Johannesburg on the 29th of March then Germany and Swaziland in April more cities to follow.
