Homemaking is a term for the management of a home, otherwise known as housework, housekeeping, or household management. It is the act of overseeing the organizational, day-to-day operations of a house or estate, and the managing of other domestic concerns. We could tell you more but we'll leave that to 2019's edition of Cape Town Homemakers Expo happening from 29 August to 1 September at the CTICC.
This year's theme is Raw Comfort and by attending you get to witness, touch and feel the very latest in home, décor, design and lifestyle trends. With close to a hundred exhibitors, the Homemakers Expo is set to be a wondrous journey and insight into the local craftsmanship and top brands. The Expo is split in sections namely, INTERIOR spaces, d'VINE life, truly ARTISAN, OUTside, the home | tuis Theatre, the Raw CONCRETE Theatre, the Tafelberg AV & Appliance Emporium, The Eco Interior KITCHEN as well the Design, Art and Textile ComPETition. Each section plays it's own role from INterior Spaces, where attendants get to see the latest in interior decor. D'Vine Life will cater for the drinkers attending the Expo offering the very best in local liquor from gin, handcrafted beer and wines.
Truly Artisan is a showcase of decorative handcraft and design, from handmade ceramics and leather goods to art and custom jewellery. The Eco Interior Kitchen, offers an exciting programme of demonstrations by lifestyle guru Izelle Hoffman from Thrive for Good. Possibly the biggest highlight of the event is the Design, Art and Textile Competition in association with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG) . Work from finalists of the contest will be on display at the Expo and over R50 000 worth of prize money is up for grabs. The Expo will be open Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 6pm. “Regardless of your age, type of home, requirements or dreams, we’ll have it all at the show. Whether a shopper, inspiration-seeker or DIY enthusiast, it’s all about real homes for real people!” said Sandy Edwards, Homemakers Expo Cape Town organiser.
