Are you thinking of recording a new album? Are you clueless on where to purchase world class musical instruments or recording equipment? Well there's no need to fret as Paul Bothner is at your service, more than ready to cater for all your musical needs.
Paul Bothner Music is a full-service musical instrument and equipment retailer whose history dates as far back as 1902 when Charles Bothner who was a piano tuner at the time took the entrepreneurial route and relocated from Switzerland to Cape Town. Thus began his foray into the musical retailing business. Initially they focused solely on importing and selling pianos. Backed by capital from his wife and sons, the name Paul Bothner spread like veld a fire in South Africa and beyond.
In 1969, the world was given the Woodstock, a musical festival held between August 15–18, 1969, which attracted an audience of more than 400,000. Bearing the theme: "3 Days of Peace & Music", it was held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm near White Lake in Bethel New York, forty three southwest of Woodstock. The festival featured musical greats of that era like Richie Havens, Ravi Shanker and Jimi Hendrix. It was in this golden age of music that Paul Bothner reinvented themselves into the full-service musical instrument and equipment retailer they are now.
Paul Bothner Music stores are now spread out nationwide from their first ever store in Claremont, Cape Town to six other stores in the Western Cape alone and the rest spread out across Centurion, Durban, Bloemfontein, and Kimberley. They also have an online musical store and they are a proud sponsor of the upcoming Cape Town Unwired.
